DC SCORES offers all students access to soccer, spoken-word poetry, and service learning – but in a pivotal year, they needed a new way to share their message.

The web and brand presence for DC SCORES didn't reflect the complexity of their work or the impact they have in their students' lives.

Opportunity

Despite the quality of their work, many outside the DC SCORES community didn’t understand the full breadth of their service and offerings. An entirely new web presence was needed.

As part of their 20th anniversary celebrations, and as the lead-in to the 2026 World Cup, I led our design efforts, sourced and collaborated directly with our dev team, and created a product that’s not only a vast improvement for the DC SCORES team but genuinely reflects the spirit and joy of their work.

The existing DC SCORES brand wasn’t bringing the joy their students felt in participating, so we evolved their existing brand system to incorporate new elements, like collage and refined accent colors, while staying true to the established tenets of their current brand.
